i believe the above is very true. one day someone may think they are being original, then they see someone the next day doing, saying or wearing the same thing. it's hard to be original these days, it seems like everything has been done. my art teacher told my class, "All originality is borrowed". i took this as you can take something that has already been done, put your little twist on it, you know make it yours. with that being said, although it may not seem like it, being original is still possible. so get out there and show the world what you've got. even if it seems like it has already been done. your ideas are necessary for making a change in the world.
